How to Access Your Truest Expression in Life [Deep Dive]
It's Not Your Discipline. It's Not Your Intelligence. It's the Operating System You've Been Running Underneath It All- Here's How to Upgrade it.
There’s a version of you that’s never fully shown up.
You probably know what I’m talking about.. even if you’ve never put words to it.
The pull toward something that doesn’t fit neatly into your career or who you perceive yourself to be.
The interest you’ve quietly written off as impractical.
The whisper you keep promising yourself you’ll get back to someday- buried under “I’m too busy” or “that’s not realistic.”
You haven’t ignored it because you’re lazy.
You’ve ignored it because you’ve been conditioned to view your hearts desires as distractions that won’t get you where you want to go in life.
They’re not distractions.
Every outlier I’ve ever studied..
Every person who went on to create something genuinely original.. followed these unexplainable whispers.
Trusted them.
& what emerged wasn’t random..
It was a life that looked like a MIRACLE from the outside, and felt like finally coming HOME from the inside.
What I want to share with you today is a paradigm changing way for you to understand what you’re here on earth to do- and why the path you’ve been on has felt so hollow.

♻️ The Shortcuts Running Your Life Right Now
We often like to think that we go through life responding rationally to what’s in front of us.
We don’t..
As we go throughout our days- in the moment to moment- we pull from ‘shortcuts’ that are ALREADY RUNNING underneath conscious awareness- about what we’re perceiving in front of us and what it might mean.
These “shortcuts” are something I like to call mental models.
Think of them as your brain’s compression system- simplified maps of how the world works, built to help you navigate an infinitely complex reality without having to figure everything out from scratch.
The problem?
Most of those maps were drawn for you by others.. and created by old versions of yourself- that you can’t seem to evolve beyond.
They are built on years & years of assumptions and presuppositions.
Imagine having a cross country map in your car, but 40% of the cities, states, streets and freeways are 20 years outdated or just flat out wrong..
You would CONSTANTLY find yourself going the wrong direction, making incorrect decisions- frequently finding yourself flat out LOST.
That is how most people are living their lives- walking around with totally incorrect or outdated models of the “map” (objective reality) that they are trying to navigate.
& here's the part that really hits different:
The more you follow a faulty map, the more lost you find yourself.
This isn’t a “try harder” problem.
It’s a “you need completely new software” problem.
When problems come up, your system unconsciously pulls from it’s limited mental models- which result in creating poor, often painful results and ‘learning lessons’ in your life.
Without conscious introspection of your own mental models and “shortcuts”- through which you navigate life- you cannot possibly begin the work of UPDATING your mental models to more accurately map to objective reality!
This is a huge reason why meditation, practicing self-inquiry, reading the right books, learning from the right mentors, taking in the right “information diet”- as I like to call it, and surrounding yourself with the right people- are such CHEATCODES.
Through meditation, you start to bring your unconscious “frames” (aka presuppositions & paradigms about reality) into conscious awareness.. whereas before, you couldn’t even see they were there.
Through the other modalities, you unconsciously pick up on and start mimicking (via mirror neurons) the ways of thinking, acting and being from those around you- with little conscious effort required on your behalf.
You start noticing how you were thinking about a given topic, stance, area or issue “incorrectly” or in a “limiting way”- and your eyes are opened to a better way of thinking about that topic or problem.
THIS is the power of mental models- and this is why I’ve been such a proponent and avid student of learning from many of the most unique people who have ever lived.
✍️ The Law That Explains Everything That Hasn't Worked
Here’s a question most people never ask themselves honestly:
On a daily or weekly basis, where is 80% of your energy actually going?
Not where you INTEND it to go. Not where you THINK it goes.
Where does it actually go- when you’re operating in default mode?
If you tracked this for a week, you’d be alarmed by the results.
Most of us are spending the overwhelming majority of our time and energy on things we don’t consciously CHOOSE..
Paths placed in front of us without consent.
Identities handed to us before we had a voice.
Stories about who we're supposed to be- that became so loud, we stopped being able to hear our true nature, underneath them.
This isn't laziness.. It's what happens when you've been inside one frame of reality for so long that it stops feeling like a frame at all.
It just feels like life.
& you can't choose your way out of something you can't even see.
There’s a principle that explains this.
It’s called the Pareto Principle- or the 80/20 rule.
80% of meaningful results come from only 20% of inputs.
Most people have heard this. Almost nobody truly lives it.
Because living it isn’t about applying another productivity hack so you can work more.
It’s about ruthlessly asking yourself:
What 20% of my life is actually producing the results- the aliveness, the sense of ‘this is mine’- and what 80% am I doing out of obligation, habit, or unconscious momentum?
For most people reading this, that question is genuinely confronting.
Because the 20% that matters most- the subtle pulls, the curiosities, the parts of yourself you keep promising yourself you’ll get back to- those are almost never chosen.
They got edited out.. slowly- almost without you even realizing it.
The life that actually feels like YOURS is closer than you think.
You’ve just been placing your intention & attention in the wrong places.
✨ How the System Crippled Your Originality
At some point- somewhere between middle school and your first real job- a quiet but unmistakable message got delivered to you.
Pick a lane.
Not in those exact words. But in the structure of every class you took, every major you were asked to declare, every career counselor who helped you “figure out what you want to do with your life.”
The entire architecture of modern education was built around one idea: specialization.
Go deep in one thing.
Become an expert.
Make yourself USEFUL to a system that needs people with very specific, very narrow skills.
For some people, that path makes perfect sense.
Surgeons need it. Structural engineers need it. The depth required in those domains is real and it matters.
But most of you reading this were never going to be a surgeon.
& yet- you were put through the exact same system.
The same slow, deliberate funneling away from your natural curiosity and toward a role someone else needed filled.
For long enough that you may have forgotten there was even another option.
The mind is tricky that way.
An elephant tied to a plastic chair as a baby won’t even try to break free as an adult.. not because the chair could hold it, but because it stopped believing escape was possible.
Most of us ARE that elephant.
We built our entire identity around one domain- and called it a career.
At best, you move between 2 or 3 areas of life: work, family, a hobby that keeps getting deprioritized.
At worst, you define yourself entirely by your single identity- and feel a quiet emptiness you can’t explain and can’t seem to shake.
Either way, the deeper parts of you that were always meant to come through- the pulls you buried, the interests you wrote off, the whispers you promised to get back to- never got to.
Here’s what I need you to understand.
The most influential people to EVER shape this world didn’t play this game.
I’m talking about the elite of the elite, in all domains.
Jobs. Jordan. Musk. Tesla. Da Vinci. Kanye.
The world knows each of them for ONE thing.
But underneath the surface.. something completely different was happening- and almost nobody talks about it.
🙏 The Gap Between Knowing and Actually Living It
Most of you have heard of the 80/20 rule.
Some of you have read about mental models.. or heard me talk about them repeatedly.
Maybe even shared about them with someone else.
And yet- here you are.
Not because any of it is wrong.
But because there’s a world of difference between understanding something and actually living it.
Think about the gap between a megachurch preacher and Jesus Christ himself.
They both “know” the teachings. Chapters and verses. Backwards and forwards.
But would you ever say they’re producing the same results? That they carry the same weight? That walking away from their presence leaves you feeling the same?
Of course not..
One is PERFORMING understanding. The other has become the living EMBODIMENT of the teachings.
There’s a teaching from Matthew that gets at this more precisely than I ever could:
“By their fruit you will recognize them. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Thus, by their fruit you will know them.” -Matthew (Chap. 7)
It doesn’t matter how many books you’ve read. How many podcasts. How many conversations you’ve had about the right way to live.
If your life doesn’t reflect it- you don’t actually KNOW what you think you know, yet.
Not at a level that matters..
The fruits tell the real story. They always do.
Q: What are the “fruits” of YOUR life telling you, right now?
Sit with that for a second before we move forward.
🔮 What Every Outlier Had in Common (It's Not What You Think)
The world knows these people for ONE thing.
That’s the trap.
Because when you only see the outcome- the company, the championship, the invention- you miss everything the magic that actually produced it.
Steve Jobs
Most people think Steve Jobs was a tech visionary who met a guy named Woz and built Apple in a garage.
That’s not the story.
Before Apple existed, Jobs was a student of Zen Buddhism and eastern philosophy. He liked marijuana, hash, mushrooms, and LSD- and called some of those experiences the most formative of his life.
He loved music deeply. He studied calligraphy and typography in college not because it was practical, but because it fascinated him.
He had a rich appreciation for interior design and architecture.
None of it looked like a business plan… yet, it’s what birthed Apple.
The eastern philosophy became the simplicity in the design.
The calligraphy became the typography.
The obsession with beauty became the hardware.
The psychedelic experiences cracked open a way of seeing the world that no conventional tech education could have given him.
Every single ‘pull’ he followed- the ones that made no logical sense at the time- ended up fitting perfectly into what he was on earth to create.
He couldn’t have planned this. Nobody could have.
We all have access to these same pulls.
The interests we’ve quietly written off.
The curiosities we’ve buried under “that’s not practical.”
Steve Jobs would not have been Steve Jobs had he ignored them.
Each one of these seemingly “random” areas that Jobs allowed himself to explore, ended up PERFECTLY fitting into his ultimate life purpose, in a way that no one could have foreseen in the moment- not even him.
This may seem like some sort of “fate” or “luck”- if you haven’t studied history or read many books on successful and influential people.
This pattern.. is seen OVER and OVER and OVER in the most INNOVATIVE, INFLUENTIAL people to ever live.
They weren’t just more productive than their peers…
They were sourcing intelligence from a fundamentally different place.
Michael Jordan
Seems like the ultimate hyper-specialist, right?
Wrong.
While everything Jordan had was aimed at basketball, the approach he used to become the greatest of all time included mindfulness and meditation, sensory deprivation, books from completely unrelated domains, and Native American rituals.
Every other player in the league was focused purely on basketball.
Jordan was pulling from somewhere others weren’t even looking.
Elon Musk
Often thought of as an expert in EV’s or Technology..
Yet he is quite outspoken about being what he calls an “expert generalist”- clearly evidenced by the number of $1B+ companies he owns and his ~$1T net worth.
Part of Elon’s “1 of 1” abilities are derived from how well he has mastered the 80/20 life + skill stacking.
He does not try to be the world’s best or smartest in any 1 domain, but instead, to be the worlds best at a unique combination of seemingly “unrelated domains”..
This has allowed him to start companies that range from Fintech & Payments, to Automotive & Transportation, to Robotics, to Space Travel & Rockets, to Data Centers & A.I., to Renewable Energy, Batteries & Energy Storage.
You cannot possibly fathom the amount of disciplines that Elon has gotten “good enough” in, to be able to scale world-class companies successfully, in such unrelated domains.
Remember this idea, because we’re going to come back to it.
Nikola Tesla
Fluent in 8 languages. Photographic memory. Polymathic genius across power, electricity, radio, physics, and robotics.
Most people remember him as “the guy who had something to do with free electricity.”
Leonardo da Vinci
Painter. Sculptor. Architect. Engineer. Scientist. Inventor. Theorist.
Sit with that for a moment.
Not because it’s impressive- though it is..
But because this was one human being, made of the same material you and I are made of, who breathed the same air and bled the same blood.
Any sensible person that sits with the information I am sharing with you would likely be asking themselves:
What are/were they doing differently than me, to produce such radically different results in their life?
This is the billion dollar question.
This pattern repeats across every domain, every era, and every person I’ve spent serious time studying.
& I already know the objection forming in your mind.
“That’s great, Jeremy. But I’m not Steve Jobs.”
I hear you.
So let me be direct with you for a second.
The people I just described weren’t chasing greatness. They were chasing what felt true to them. They followed pulls that made no practical sense. They explored things that seemed random, unrelated, even irresponsible to the people around them.
They weren’t necessarily born more talented than you.
The main real difference?
They never let the outside world convince them to stop pursuing their hearts desires.
There is nothing wrong with you..
You just haven’t been shown how to actualize WHO YOU TRULY ARE!
♟️ How to Stop Playing a Rigged Game
Einstein was famous for saying:
“If I had an hour to solve a problem, I would spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem, and 5 minutes solving it”
That’s what 80/20 thinking actually looks like.
It’s not about more productivity or hacking your way to more success.
It’s about bringing more INTENTIONALITY to each moment & asking the “meta questions” that actually matter- before you decide to head in a certain direction.
Most people skip this step entirely. They just GO.
They work harder on the wrong 80% and wonder why nothing changes.
There are two specific ways this traps you- and both run deeper than ‘efficiency’.
1) Your Thinking Lacks Leverage
When you start asking “what’s the 20% that will give me the best ROI on my efforts?”- something shifts immediately.
The overwhelm lifts.
Because suddenly you’re not trying to master everything. You’re not staring down a 15-year path towards becoming a domain expert..
Or committing to a life sentence with something that you may find out you don’t actually love.
You’re asking a much simpler question:
What do I need to understand well enough to stop being stuck here? (80/20 at it’s finest)
That might take a year… not 15.
2) The ‘Last Mile’ Problem
The gap between reaching 90-95% competency and reaching true world-class mastery in any domain is roughly 10x the difficulty, time & bandwidth commitment.
10 times harder. 10 times more work.
For a gain that, to almost everyone in the world, is barely distinguishable.
This is why we have elite athletes- and then everyone else...
The difference between the best and the second best is a fraction of a percent. & yet, that gap plays out a mile wide.
Maybe what you’re pursuing in life requires this, or maybe your soul just longs for it..
But in my experience of coaching & working with thousands of students over the last 13+ years- most just want to experience more ALIVENESS in their life.
They want to feel like more of WHO THEY TRULY ARE, and less of all the other B.S. that they’re carrying or picked up along the way.
Yet, despite this, most are unconsciously following a prewritten playbook, that really only makes sense if you ARE trying to achieve that kind of domain-specific outcome.
When you combine the self-awareness to know what you actually desire- what matters to your heart, not your resumé- with the 80/20 life and everything that follows it...
You unlock something most people never give themselves permission to access.
Not just more time freedom. Not just financial independence.
The space to finally express what’s actually ALIVE in you- wanting to come through.
🐐 Become Unfuckwithable
The 80/20 mental model helps you pause, step back, and ask the most important question one can ask….
Does putting my limited intention & attention on this give me the best return on my energy?
The more of this intentionality you bring to your life, the more you will notice how much freed up time & bandwidth you now have to devote to what actually brings you more alive.
It’s not long before you start asking questions like:
How can I better use my time/energy, in a way that would both provide me more fulfillment and create better results in the process?
This question is the doorway into skill stacking.
Skill stacking is the “stacking” of seemingly unrelated skills or disciplines in a way that gives you unique perspectives and problem-solving abilities, that become a force of innovation in your life.
Here’s what that might look like for you specifically:
You’ve probably have various interests that don’t fit together- at first glance.
Things that pull at you that you can’t fully explain or fit together easily..
Psychology, film, art, business, agriculture, eastern philosophy, interior design, investing, ancient history, literature, some completely unrelated domain that keeps calling to you whenever you let yourself follow what actually interests you, etc.
& you’ve probably been treating those pulls like liabilities or distractions.
.. like evidence that you’re unfocused, scattered, or ‘not disciplined enough’ to pick a lane and stay in it.
What I am proposing to you today is that this is COMPLETELY BACKWARDS.
Skill Stacking is about no longer dimming the FULL EXPRESSION of who you are. It’s about letting your heart guide you towards actualizing your UNIQUE GENIUS on this earth.
My path has been ANYTHING but conventional.
From the outside looking in, it would seem indicative of someone who has serious ADHD, is lost in their life, doesn’t know what they want to do, or lacks focus.
Yet my LIVED REALITY couldn’t be further from this- and this is what is so challenging about polymath types, attempting to “fit into” the mold of society.
Allow me to give you a brief glimpse into what my “skill stacking” journey has looked like..
When I was 19 years old- I was in college getting a Business/Marketing degree that I was largely bored at the thought of. So I joined an MLM, called Vemma.
I quickly found myself immersed in the world of personal development, learning sales, receiving leadership training, practicing my communication skills, getting over my fears of being rejected & failing, & more..
If you asked me at THAT time, I simply thought I was learning those things to be successful in the MLM world and strike it rich before I was legally of age to drink alcohol.
I wanted the free Mercedes Benz ‘C class’ they offered to affiliates who reached a certain tier in the company.. 😂
When I was 20 years old, I started studying for my NASM personal trainer certification and learning about the Golgi Tendon Organ and the Gracilis muscle..
If you asked me at this time why I was doing that, I would’ve confidently told you it was because fitness was going to become my lifelong career.
At the time, I was utterly obsessed with training, nutrition & supplementation and saw myself being a “global online fitness coach”- I would journal about it, visualize it, and practice manifesting this EVERY DAY.
By the time I was 23 years old- I was studying buddhism, taoism, and eastern meditation- learning about the layers of “self” and my relationship to attachment and temporary experience..
If you asked me at this time why I was putting so much of myself into these practices & studies, I would’ve told you it was simply because meditation & inner work were really helping me evolve & heal from my upbringing, during that season of my life.
When I was 25, learning from my 1st business mentors about high ticket sales, the psychology of offers, copywriting, marketing, systems and automation- I thought I was simply learning all that to build my 1st high ticket program of my entrepreneurial career.
When I was 27, learning about investing & how the 1% build, protect, and multiply their wealth- I thought I was just learning that for my own use & my future family’s legacy planning..
At that time, it never once crossed my mind that I wanted to teach others about wealth.. I was, once again, just following my own natural curiosities & focusing on the season that I was in.
Over that ~10 year period, I was also reading/learning across ALL domains- from psychology, to neuroscience, to storytelling/cinema, to history, to eastern philosophy and spirituality, to economics, to business, to mindset, to hypnosis, to investing, to art, to science, and so on..
On the surface, this all looks incredibly random- like a millennial who is lost in the world, so they ‘ping pong’ from thing to thing, in search of their “purpose in life”.
Yet for me, these “side-quests” were never separate from one another.
Each represented different ways I could learn about consciousness & the nature of reality itself- from varying degrees of perspective.
It was less about what any 1 book or craft could teach me in the literal sense, and more about what that investment could ADD to my existing mental models & understanding of the underlying “rules” that govern 3D reality.
Very few parents would recommend a path like this to their kids.. instead, most recommend the path of HYPER-EXPERTISE, rooted in years and years of focus & dedication towards a single topic.
Yet, a few very counter-intuitive gifts emerge from taking the path less traveled..
If you were to witness me in any one of these stages of my life, I was utterly obsessed with what I was focusing on.
To me, it was ALL that mattered at that time.. & then one day- I would just outgrow it, get bored, and move onto the next thing that my heart pulled me towards.
The more times I did this, I started to notice a pattern that I couldn’t see before.
With each new business venture I started.. I would bring a whole host of seemingly unrelated knowledge, outside domain expertise, mental models, and ways of looking at problems- into that new domain.
Looking back- every single season, I was applying the same framework without fully realizing it consciously.
All the while, my parents probably thought of me as a lost kid, wandering through life without ever “committing to a career path”..
I couldn’t often explain why I was pulled toward a given domain or interest. I rarely had a logical reason.
I just couldn’t ignore it.
Does any of this sound familiar?
Getting competent enough to be dangerous, feeling the pull toward something new, following it, & bringing everything you’ve already built with you into the new domain.
What inevitably happens when you live this way, is that you come in as an “outsider” and while you can’t hold a torch to the “technical experts” in your new field…
As you start to learn the foundations of this new area- you’re able to bring your existing “unrelated” knowledge and skills into this new domain, and your brain has a far richer and more interconnected neural network of synapses firing and wiring together, as you learn the new domain.
This is when the exponential, or non-linear benefits of skill stacking really start to shine through.
What this builds, over time, is something I like to call a mental latticework: a web of seemingly unrelated mental models that starts connecting dots other people literally cannot see.
Throughout running my last business, the LUC, my students would often ask me: “how did you know that was going to happen in the markets?”
This was such a common sentiment of theirs that we even had an inside joke about the 🔮 emoji..
Jokes aside, what I would explain to them repeatedly is this concept of building your mental latticework, and how “mental leverage compounds exponentially over time.”
As an investor- I’ve learned to filter markets through spiritual dynamics, human psychology, my understanding of the nervous system, pattern recognition, my love for games, and economic history.
No institutional analyst is coming from that angle- and thats exactly the point.
As a writer and teacher- I pull from my love for cinema, creating state change, comedy, hypnosis, etymology, neuroscience, and eastern philosophy in the same breath.
As an entrepreneur- I draw on a mixture of spiritual frameworks, my understanding of energetics, artificial intelligence, my love for cinema & storytelling, my understanding of leadership, human psychology, systems thinking, art and even physics.
My “skill stack” is so unconventional at this point, that I can think through or explain a single concept- say “the law of attraction” or “launching a business offer” in 12 different ways, depending on who I am talking to.
I could use a fitness metaphor, a spiritual metaphor, a business metaphor, a historical analogy, a math explanation, a comparison to the artistic process, a wealth/investing metaphor, an explanation of the underlying physics of it, and so on..
That stack didn’t get built by following a rigid plan..
It didn’t get built by spending a decade training my creativity to see life through ONE limited frame of reality..
It got built by following the divine guidance in my heart and trusting it- even when I couldn’t explain why I felt called to such an unorthodox life path.
If I know you, this is probably not far off from how you feel about your own life.. maybe I’m just putting words to something you’ve innately felt..
The purpose of life far transcends what we do as a “career”- yet most people build the entirety of who they perceive themselves to be, based on this single title.
You are a spiritual being, learning about yourself while on earth, through contrast.
There is no better breeding ground for learning about yourself via contrast, than to immerse yourself in MANY MANY different crafts, paths, viewpoints and perspectives.
It is through this process that you learn to see life closer to ‘true nature’- and you begin to shed more limiting & fixed perspectives through which most view life- largely because they can’t see outside the same few frames.
The more you open yourself up to realizing there are an almost infinite number of perspectives through which you can view a given moment, problem, task or challenge- the more coherent your models of the world are going to be.
Here’s what I want you to sit with:
You’ve likely already been doing this. Every “random” thing you’ve ever gotten good at is part of your stack. You may have just never considered how these seemingly unrelated skills can be weaved together into a more coherent worldview.
🪽 The Part of You That’s Been Waiting..
None of this is actually about productivity.
The 80/20 principle, the skill stacking, the mental latticework..
On the surface, what I’m speaking to may seem like it’s all about getting the most out of every unit of time & effort you put in.
Applying these frameworks can & will absolutely skyrocket your 3D results in life, I am not going to sit here and lie to you..
But the REAL benefits run far deeper than intellect or achievement..
What these lived frameworks actually do for you is bring you back into WHO & WHAT you truly are- underneath all the education, social contracts and societal expectations.
There are versions of you- many many layers deep- that are trying to express THROUGH you..
But you can’t even see them..
Because the stories you’re telling yourself about what you MUST AIM AT and what path you MUST FOLLOW have become louder than the whisper underneath them.
Allow us to explore a quick thought exercise to illustrate the deeper point here:
How many people do you think are alive right now who are competent A.I. software engineers?
Maybe between 10 and 100 million…? That would be my guess- based on the data.
Now- how many of those people are also quite experienced in building and scaling businesses, teams & brands from ground zero?
Maybe 1 million...? That would be my guess- not very common at all.
Lastly, how many of those people are also exceptional communicators- AND live + operate from a deeply spiritual place?
Maybe 10,000 to 25,000…? That would be my guess- you’re basically describing a unicorn.
Sit with that for a second.
We started with 100 million people.
We ended with a few thousand.
That’s what happens when someone stops hiding the FULL RANGE of who they are- and starts allowing divinity come through them.. unobstructed.
Every domain you’ve explored.
Every pull you’ve followed.
Every season that quietly activated something NEW in you, even when you couldn’t quite explain it..
Each one of these is a layer of interconnected expression that ONLY YOU carry.
When you instead try to fit the totality of YOU into one lane- one skill, one title, one version of yourself the world finds acceptable- you cut yourself off from your ability to become who you actually came here to be.
Now take the person who has STOPPED dimming themselves.
Who knows a thing or two about A.I..
Who also has a proven track record of building & scaling businesses from ground zero.
..who has spent a decade learning how to speak, teach, and write in a way that actually moves people.
..who lives a deeply unorthodox spiritual lifestyle woven into everything they create- and into the people they serve.
That person isn’t just hard to replicate.
They’re expressing something that could ONLY come through THEM.
That’s not a strategy.
You can’t learn that from a business coach or personal development book.
That’s what it looks like when someone actualizes their ONE of ONE gifts in this life.
If that didn’t make a lightbulb go off, read it again.
I just handed you my secret sauce.. for those with ears to hear what I am truly saying.
When you layer a multi-disciplinary skill stack on top of the 80/20 life, you now have the ingredients required for genuine CREATION & INNOVATION to take place.
You are positioned to birth things that do not currently exist, because of the unique ways in which you are looking at life- from OUTSIDE the box.
When you study innovators, you start to notice that they live in an entirely different reality from everyone else. They are tapped into a plane of consciousness that you simply cannot see- because your mind is shackled & limited by your “education” and where you source knowledge from.
The question “Why does it have to be done this way?” isn’t something they have to remember to ask..
It lives in them.
It’s woven into everything they do.
Observable in the fingerprints of everything they touch.
I, personally, am not interested in doing things HOW THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN DONE- that’s boring..
That’s not CREATION, it’s modeling the past.
Creation is a far more spiritual act, one that connects you to the very “golden thread” of conscious intelligence itself- as the “unseen” pours through the human vessel- and the unmanifest comes into physical form.
Something NEW comes into existence that wasn’t there before.
Remember what I said at the very beginning… that there is a version of you that has never FULLY shown up?
This is what I was pointing at.
When I look around this planet, I see so many people living without hope..
Without purpose..
Yet, I can’t help but notice how many people are walking paths and living lives that lack CREATION..
Lives that lack any semblance of unique, unbridled expression.
This tells me RIGHT AWAY whether someone is cutoff from source or not.
What do you expect to feel like when you build your entire life on top of the unconscious assumption that others know better than you do, what is best for your life..?
When you cut yourself off from the spark of creation, and source your knowledge from outside yourself- you cut yourself off from the CREATOR himself.
At what point will you stop letting your mind lead you, and tune into your heart?
Maybe there’s been a quiet whisper in you, to learn piano..
A quiet pull you’ve felt for years- written off as unproductive, or buried under “I’m too busy.”
I can assure you- there is immense value waiting in that pursuit, that may have nothing directly to do with piano.
People who live in the way I’m describing in this piece- unconsciously seem to “get” that whether you’re a painter, a farmer, an athlete, a singer, or a businessman- each “role” is simply learning about CONSCIOUSNESS and the NATURE OF LIFE ITSELF from a different perspective or vantage point..
& it is the LAYERING and DIVERSITY of perspectives that provides a human the richest metaphysical “map” of how life works, how things could be done better on earth, principles and concepts that are tried and true, and so on.
When you look at a problem from an engineering perspective, you’re going to notice certain things about the problem that you will not notice when you look at something from an artistic perspective.
Layering these, builds a more WHOLE or COMPLETE perspective, that is closer to objective truth. The more we do this, the closer we are actually perceiving reality.
“To a man with a hammer, every problem looks like a nail”
When was the last time you actively stepped outside of your meta-frame of reality..?
.. your deepest presuppositions about WHO you think you are, WHY you think you’re here, and WHAT you think you’re supposed to be doing…
& instead, tapped into your heart… and let THAT lead you?
🎨 Where Your Story Gets to Start
Before we close this piece, I want to leave you with 7 POWERFUL PROMPTS to take into your meditation, journaling & reflection time.
These aren’t just any journal prompts.
They’re the questions that- if you actually sit with them- will show you exactly where your life has been running on lower codes.
If I change nothing about my current path- what will my life look & feel like in 10 years? 20 years?
What would my days look like if I stopped trying to do what I think I’m supposed to do & instead started prioritizing what my heart wants to do?
What pre-suppositions have I based my life’s direction on, that may or may not be true or outdated?
If I began living the 80/20 path and gave myself permission to learn & explore freely, what new areas might my heart feel the pull to learn more about?
How can I start applying the 80/20 mental model to my daily decision making?
If money didn’t exist, what would my heart want me to spend my time doing? What brings me the most joy?
What is my current skill stack?
Much of the wisdom at the core of this way of living comes down to one thing: leverage.
The more leverage you can deploy in solving problems, the quicker you solve them- and the higher and farther you can reach.
There is no higher leverage that can be found than by tapping into the field of intelligence, but in order to do that- you have to connect with your heart and get out of your head.
A great practice to bring more intention to your moment–to-moment lived experience is the PAUSE.
Between stimulus/trigger and response- there is a GAP..
The more you can WIDEN that gap, the more the true YOU can lead your life- not your preconditioning.
When problems arise, most people really struggle to PAUSE.. and because of that, they respond to problems how they’ve always responded to them.
Overwriting this can be hard- so if you’re getting serious about the 80/20 life, here are TWO TACTICAL PRACTICES you can start implementing right now:
Make the background image on your phone or computer “80/20” or “Pause” for a few weeks or months. Simple & effective.
Set alarms on your phone that go off once an hour, throughout the day. Label the alarm “80/20 Principle” or “Pause & Reflect”.
Anytime you see your background, it will serve as an “environmental cue” to remind you to come back to center, pause, and reconnect.
Anytime the alarm goes off, stop whatever you’re doing, close your eyes & pause..
Practice applying the 80/20 thought process to whatever was happening when the alarm went off.
Do you really need to be doing whatever it is you’re doing- or did you default into what you’re doing because you failed to QUESTION if it was even necessary for what you most desire out of life?
These are pattern interrupts that allow you to use your conscious mind to help train your unconscious mind- until things can stick more naturally for you.
The person who used to suppress every yearning that didn't fit the plan becomes someone who learns to trust those signals- and let them lead you.
The person who always ran someone else's playbook, becomes someone who finally starts living a life congruent with your true nature.
You came in with someone else’s map- one that kept you narrow & disempowered.
Now you have the tools to create your own.
This is how creation begins.
That version of you that's never fully shown up?
It's been waiting.
Not for permission from the world.
For permission from YOU.
With Love,
-J

Thank you for this much needed read! Such a beautiful reminder to let that inner child stay passionated curious. Taking the leap is scary, but I’ve felt the pull for a while. Time to create from the heart again and trust that years of stacked-up skills will guide me home. 💙
Your writing has that same weight and clarity you get from Ray Dalio, Viktor Frankl, or Richard Rudd (especially his stuff on pausing and pivoting in the art of contemplation). But you have a unique twist that makes these big ideas way easier to wrap my head around.
Really loved this!
